Our time served technicians and engineers repair and refurbish hydraulic, electrical and mechanical equipment, from a burst hose to a major component failure.
With overhead crane capacity at our Oldmeldrum workshop, and our own machining and fabrication services, we can lift and work on equipment up to five tonnes.
For equipment that cannot come off site, our engineers travel to you, on or offshore, working to the same DNV accredited quality system.

Refurbishment is not cosmetic. Equipment arrives worn, corroded and out of service, and goes back out stripped, inspected, rebuilt with new or remanufactured parts, function tested and refinished.

Case study · Casing Jack
Modified in-house, on site within three days
A UK oil and gas operator carrying out an ESP completion change out on a long reach well was concerned that the hoist on the workover rig did not have enough strength to unseat the packer, and asked whether ITC’s casing jack could be deployed quickly for that part of the operation.
ITC’s casing jack is capable of a 500 tonne pull, far in excess of the estimated unseating force of around 110 tonnes. ITC’s engineering department reviewed the rig substructure and determined the support beams needed to transfer the load. With the right bushing and slips not available in the time frame, ITC removed the integrated back-saver system and used the top plates from a wellhead tension table to support the rig pipe elevators, and made a new control stand to interface with the rig’s own HPU, including a pressure limiting circuit to avoid overloading the rig substructure.
The jack was hotshot deployed and returned within three days, after the client successfully unseated the packer. The client was very pleased with the quick preparation and inventive approach.
Accreditation
ITC has been an ISO 9001 accredited company since 2012. In 2018 ITC passed UKAS accreditation by DNV-GL for its Integrated Management System, covering Quality (ISO 9001:2015), Environment (ISO 14001:2015) and Health & Safety (ISO 45001). All refurbishment and repair work is controlled through that system, whether the job is a one-off repair or a full refurbishment back to current standards.

How quickly can ITC respond to a breakdown?
ITC is set up for a fast response, on site or at the Oldmeldrum workshop. The casing jack in the case study above was prepared, modified and hotshot deployed within three days.
Can equipment be refurbished to current standards rather than the original specification?
Yes. Equipment can be refurbished back to its original installation specification, or brought up to current industry standards. Any upgrades are identified and agreed before work proceeds.
What happens if a replacement part is not available?
ITC’s in-house machining and fabrication division can make replacement or modified parts, which avoids waiting on an external supplier.
Can repairs be carried out on our site?
Yes. ITC has on and offsite capability, and mobile refurbishment and repair packages for equipment that cannot be moved, on or offshore.
What equipment does ITC refurbish?
Hydraulic, electrical and mechanical equipment, including winches, reelers, hydraulic power units, pumps, motors and control systems.
Is refurbished equipment tested before it comes back?
